The KTM Moto Tour invades Log Road MX
June 30 & July 1

When we got the call from KTM’s Mark Hyde asking us if we would like to host The KTM Moto Tour, a two-day dealer and demo ride set up to spotlight the release of the all new 2011 KTM’s motocross bikes, we jumped at the chance! A big thanks needs to go out to Championship Powersports owner and all around moto head, Jim Durivage, for giving us a recommendation to KTM as the place to go for Motocross in Michigan.

As cool as it was to get the nod from KTM about the ride, you know that both Jeff and I were super pumped and had our gear bags packed as one of the most anticipated motocross bikes to hit the MX market in years, the very trick KTM 350 SX-F was going to be on the KTM semi and we could run it through its paces. However that was not the only KTM model at Log Road as KTM has one of the most diverse line-up’s of any manufacturer. The bikes are all new from the ground up and it shows in a positive light from the 150 SX right through to the 450 SX-F.

As part of the KTM Moto Tour, two-time World Champion Sebastien Tortelli Champ Factory Motocross School came to Log Road and put on a two-day MX schools that got high marks form all of the students that attended. Both days were full of hands on training by this former time World Motocross Champion and you could see that the riders in attendances were gaining speed and confidence as each drill was completed. I have to say, it was a treat to See Tortelli ripping up the freshly-prepped Log Road facility, getting the feel for the New 350 SX-F. Tortelli liked the track’s flow and technical sections, noting that it was safe and challenging for riders from beginners to experts. Want to attend one of this top of the line schools? Contact Tortelli at stephtortelli@mac.com as he is looking to put another school on in late September or early October.

The KTM Moto Tour was a big hit with both KTM and their guests and Jeff and I super pumped to have them on board and wheels are already turning to have them back in the future. KTM is clearly going the extra mile to meet the demand of the Motocross public with a line up that includes models both in the two and four-stoke and they are well worth a look.
