The AMA, our insurance carrier, and common sense, require a parent or legal guardian to sign up a minor rider. For legal purposes, we need a liability release and a minor release form filled out by the parent. For safety sake, you need your parent with you in case you're hurt and need medical treatment.
If you are a minor and
coming to the track on a race or practice day without your parent or legal
guardian, there is a way to ride, you are required to bring a notarized
permission note giving another adult permission to sign for you. You can see
what your note should contain in the example below. Make sure you have all that information in your note and you will need one for each day
you ride. You should have 2 copies of the note, 1 for us to keep and 1 for
you to have. We do not like to turn people away but will not make any exceptions
to this rule. We are required by AMA to have this each and every time you come
to the track with someone else.
| "My
child, Joe
Smith, has my permission to ride motocross at Log Road Motocross on date.
In addition, I give permission to Sam Johnson [an adult] to
sign all liability, release and registration forms at the track and to
give consent for medical treatment of Joe Smith if
needed."
________________________Parent or Guardian signature ________________________ Notary Public signature and seal |
In the example, Sam Johnson is someone 18 or over who will be at the track with you all day. We need an original copy of a notarized note for every race or practice day. You should bring an extra copy for Sam to keep in case you are hurt. Click HERE for a printer friendly version you can print off and simply fill in the blanks.
Every race it seems like we turn away at least one disappointed rider because he or she didn't bring a parent and didn't come prepared with the proper form(s). Don't let this happen to you!

You must
be 13 or older to ride a Quad 4 Stroke or a 200 CC A.C. |
RACE DAY
AWARDS - Log Road pays trophies to all Pee Wee riders on the 50 track. For all other trophy classes, we
use a formula of 1 award for every 3 entries in the class. All Pee Wee classes,
all "C" classes and the 16-24 class are eligible for trophies only
(per district rules). All other youth classes and "B" classes are
eligible for trophies or a check to the dealer of their choice. All
"A" classes and Vet classes are eligible for cash awards.
ANNUAL AWARDS - Each district keeps tracks of rider points throughout the season and pays year end awards at an annual awards banquet.
